Happy Fall Everyone! My name is Paula Nicholson. I was beyond thrilled when the ladies from the Diamonds or Pearls Blog asked me to participate in their first fall home tour. How exciting! Their aunt Judy, who they are honoring with this fall tour, was one of my dearest childhood friends. I remember how we used to go on shopping excursions in hopes of finding beautiful pumpkins, flavored pumpkin coffees, and all the things that pertained to the gorgeous hues of fall. Please come inside to my midwest Missouri home to take a peek of what the brisk fall season visually means to me.
I am always on the lookout for beautiful front door wreaths that say “welcome”.
Baking is a love of mine, so as the season starts turning cooler, my desire to fill our home with the aroma of fresh baked goodies drastically increases.
I will admit that my husband is the cook in our family, but when it comes to the details of setting the table, my heart starts swooning at the opportunity to create an inviting tablescape. I chose to decorate with traditional pumpkins, a Pottery Barn hurricane candleholder, and beautiful fall foliage.
Our living room is on the less is more scale at the moment. I love the creamy white pumpkins against all the dark rich color that envelopes this space.
You have to add a touch of fall in even the smallest of spaces. This is our cozy little guest room. I found the bed at a local antique store, then had it painted by our community sheltered workshop. They did a wonderful job. Of course, adding the layers of bedding was the fun part.
My husband and I love our back deck. It is our favorite quiet place to sit, talk, and drink coffee. I always plant a few mums in pots to welcome in the season.
My hope is that you enjoyed seeing a small glimpse of autumn in our home and that all of you have a wonderful fall season! Next on the tour is Kristen’s Colorado home, be sure to check it out on Monday.
